Welcome to your e-bike blog.

E-biking Glenbow Ranch, Calgary

I have been riding bikes for the past five decades – from standard no gear bikes to 21 speed road and mountain bikes. I ride for the enjoyment provided and the opportunity to share an activity with my wife and friends.

When travelling, we often take our bikes or rent them as they allow us explore new surroundings. We even have taken seven day cycling trips that have included Cuba (which isn’t flat) and along the Danube on a bike/river cruise vacation.

As a recreational rider, I enjoy getting outdoors and enjoy the freedom bikes offer. But as time goes on, I have discovered many of the 1000 kilometers of bike trails in our city include many steep hills.

If only there was a was to get a little help with these.

That’s why I decided to exam the potential of e-biking. As I started researching which e-bikes to buy, I went to Google. Quickly I was overwhelmed with e-bike ads and detailed information I wasn’t really interested in. And e-bike sales folks were not particularly informative or even that knowledgeable.

So, this e-bike blog was launched to share what I have learned and continue to learn about the ins and outs of e-bikes. I hope you find the posts of value and invite you to share your experience. And if you are wondering what the fuss is about, start by reading the Why E-biking post.

After a year owning my Bulls e-bike and riding close to 3000 kilometers, I can tell you first hand why you should consider owning an e-bike. It is so much fun and will get you riding more often and further than you ever thought possible.
